Trump Tsai Phone Call, the Trump Taiwan Pivot?

After 36 long years, the President of Republic of China (Taiwan) finally spoke to the president or president-elect of the United States. As a Taiwanese American, I am proud to of the phone call today. I hope that President-elect Trump will stay committed to the #ROCUSAFriendship, follow the Taiwan Relations Act and fulfill the GOP party platform.

Formal dialogue between the two leaders is a positive sign for both nations; a strong bilateral relationship benefits both parties and the Asian Pacific region. The United States must not be afraid of the lure communist China and stay true to its principle of safeguarding democracy.
